Took the bassline from a reworked version of Low Rider and made a new version. Any comments welcome on the arrangement and mix…or anything else!

Hey Paul, first impression was that the kick needs some equing around 250 Hz or so. I like using TDR Nova lately for dynamic dips with 0.5 to 1dB. That clap around 1:30 came a bit too loud for me. Best section was around 2:32 🙂 The slow down section around the 4 minute mark would have been better 8 – 16 bars earlier (personal taste). Hope that helps:)

Cheers Michael! I already have TDR Nova on the kick so I’ll have a look at what you mentioned. From the start of producing I have always used Nova, It’s one of those plugins that surprises me that it’s free. I use it on every track.

Michael is not wrong with those 250hz. Great track man. It just got a bit too much going on there, and that make it feel a bit boxy. So yeah either try do it dynamic, or take a bell and take it down 2dB and the try and narrow and widen the Q until it sounds a bit more airy in that area. Simply only focus on the kick, and do the EQ trick and it should be an easy fix.

Hi Paul! Loving the groovy track.

there is a metallic perc in the background at about 0:30 that’s super quiet made me strain to hear it.

I tried listening for the 250hz that the guys mentioned, and I guess my ears are still trash after all these years, because I couldn’t find it.

At around 2:38 when the ride and snare come in, the mid-high spectrum seems to be a bit busy for me. Maybe introduce them separately, or lower one of the elements?

Composition wise it’s dope as hell bro. Acid is so pretty. Breakdown was interesting and didn’t bore. The lead-up to it with the kick bumping was a bit long for me though.

Love the outro with that pad-like synth.

I’m quite fond of this tune. 🥰

Hi Paul Love this has a great acid vibe maybe as suggested it needs a little strip back here and there to keep the focus on the 303 i like the break and into the drop it picks up well here nice work look forward to your next version ..T
