Hey guys,

I’m back with another 150bpm Dubstep style track, kinda funky vibes.

Let me know what you think, if anything stands out. Need some fresh ears on it.

Yeah same like Piv. Killer groove and these laughter vocal sections are so cool. Also the work on the stereo field is ace. Maybe some more lower harmonics for more warmth but that’s an easy fix. Done. Awesome track!

Second listening.
The intro makes you expect Barry White to begin to sing.

Really like this track. If it is missing something, it would be some vinyl scratching, kind of as a solo guitar would be, think that could work on the track but it is not needed and just an idea

Mixing is great. not overcooked or anything.

Here’s a V2. Some minor changes, added some melody with scratch fx to the last half and beefed up the sub bass freqs with some saturation and a new riser to the second drop.

Didn’t want to change too much, let me know what you think. I’m not quite sure about the scratchy bit yet, might see if I can get a friend to add an actual scratching section to it as he’s a great turntablist.

Cool update John! For my taste these funky sounds on the left channel are a tad too loud – not much though. Maybe just 0.5 dB. Done 🤘😁

Damn! This is a really good track, love the vibe it has. No mix notes to add, it sounds great as it is. At 0.51 when the bass drops, that’s the track, well cool! Look forward to a release of this one..

Yeah disimproving happens fast. My latest workflow to go method is to stop and save the project when it feels best, so right before the moment when you think what to do next. In that case that are the notes for steps next time I am opening the project.

Great intro, got some old school vibes with the vocals.
Love the bass at the drop. And the laughs are great.
No notes, feels solid and done to me.

That bass is CHUNKY.  Love it!  The only thing that really stood out that I would address is the hats.  During the drop, the rapid hats start to fatigue me a bit.  To me it sounds as if they’re sitting on top of the mix, instead of being part of it.  When I have rapid fire hats like that, what I like to do is put a slight sidechain on them, to give them a little variation and some movement.
